Imposter syndrome is a recurring theme I see time and time again with my clients - and I'm not immune to it myself!

It's very normal to experience it - in fact, although you may expect that as someone's competence, experience and capabilities increase, feelings of imposter syndrome reduce, there is unfortunately no such rule of diminishing returns. Imposter syndrome does not discriminate who may experience its effects.

So what exactly can be done about imposter syndrome and why does it matter?

Having imposter syndrome isn't actually the part that matters.

Some people really dislike the name 'imposter syndrome',

it might have sinister connotations from the word 'imposter', and syndrome can imply it is some kind of disorder. Again, whatever your view of the name, it is the impact of experiencing imposter syndrome that is the part that matters.

Does it stop you from doing, being or having what you really want? That's when it matters!
