A life coach for mums
As a life coach for mums, I get why people might stare at me blankly or say 'oh, that's nice', if this is how I introduce myself!
Niching in the coaching industry is a big topic - I might write just about that one day! But for me, my clients are more often than not, mums.
And I don't tend to get more 'niched' than that! I have supported:
🙃 newer mums who are adjusting to the mini tornado that has entered their lives;
😮 mums of young children who find themselves spinning many plates and trying to keep them all going; and
🤔 mums of older children who've flown the nest or don't need them quite in the same way anymore, and they've found themselves asking 'what about me now?'
And I love that no mum I have worked with has been a carbon copy of any other mum.
What might we discuss in life coaching?
But the struggles are often similar - mum guilt, the juggle of work and home lives, their own identity somehow getting 'lost' in amongst the home and work lives, feeling stuck or trapped by their circumstances... I could go on!
What I love doing, through a 1-1 coaching partnership, is to ask the question 'what about you?' (more than once!) and to help each mum find their own right direction, whatever that might be, and pursue what really matters to them.
The beauty of starting a coaching partnership with a new client is that you never know exactly what is going to come up - and that goes for the client too!
But one thing I do know, my clients are not alone in how they are thinking or feeling (I see many commonalities in fact). And nearly always it won’t just end up being about the one thing they may have approached me for coaching around, e.g work!
How you experience, respond to, and the outcomes you have from coaching will be unique to you but I think I can say that they will be grounded in a new sense of clarity, understanding and self-confidence. Or as 3 of my former clients have explained it so much more clearly - ‘it has given me a huge amount of clarity and confidence to embrace my own preferences and ways to approach unhelpful thoughts or situations that felt challenging.’ ‘I feel much more positive about my goals and what I want to achieve’ and ‘it has helped me see certain things in a different light. I feel stronger and more positive going forward now.’
